Wildflower Walk at Salt Lick Point Land and Water Reserve near Valmeyer, Illinois
April 2, 2025 at 10:00 am. If necessary, cancellations will be notified by 8:00 am on April 2nd. if you need to cancel, please notifiy us as soon as possible so we can open the space to another person.
Wear sturdy hiking/walking shoes and bring water. You may also want to bring sunscreen, hat, tick spray, walking stick, camera, rain gear and snacks.
We'll meet at the Johnson Trail Trailhead. Old Valmeyer, Illinois, Rock City Complex
This trail is relatively flat and easily navigated. We will be looking for celandine poppies, Virginia bluebells, delphinium, trillium, cutleaf toothwort, trout lily, water leaf, ferns and other spring ephemerals.
Restroom (porta-potty) available near the trailhead.
