Tabling

Bring a Wild Ones St. Louis Info Table to an event near you!

One of the best ways to encourage people to use their yards in support of biodiversity is to share information and enthusiasm with them by tabling at a community event.  In 2022, 23 different Wild Ones St. Louis volunteers did just that at 17 events in March, April, May, September, and October.

Consider events in your community that would be a good fit for a Wild Ones St. Louis info table.  When you are ready to make a request for a Wild Ones St. Louis table, simply complete the brief request form (coming soon!).  If you have an immediate need, please contact Sue using the Contact Us form

Effective tabling tips

Think local

Pick an appropriate, local event such as farmers markets, fairs, garden clubs, Arbor Day celebrations.  Often connecting with people in your neighborhood or municipality has more impact than talking to people at a huge event like Earth Day at Forest Park.

Attract attention

*  Use a Wild Ones tablecloth or table-top banner to catch the eyes of folks passing by.

*  Choose one or two of the games we have available.  For example:

*  Plan to give away some native home-grown seedlings or some bare-root plants that have been ‘edited’ from your native garden.

Have a variety of information

*  The nature of the event may determine some of what you select from the materials we have available.   Many are broad in their reach.  Some are more specific, such as Native Plants Help Fruits and Vegetables to use at your local farmers’ market.

*  Look over the current Materials List (Coming soon!)  to see if there are specifics you’d like to request when you discuss details of your event with Sue.
