2025 Shaw Spring Wildflower Market

DETAILS:

Our Chapter will be selling native plants during the Spring Wildflower Market at Shaw Nature Reserve on both Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3 2025

Please note this is 1 week BEFORE Mother's day, not the same weekend as Mother's Day.

St. Louis Chapter Members: I am seeking volunteers to help on Friday and Saturday. If you volunteer, you will receive a discount off of each plant purchased from our Wild Ones booth as a thank you. 

Please sign up for only 1 volunteer spot to allow as many members as possible to participate 

The plant sale happens rain or shine! Be aware of the weather and bring raincoat, appropriate shoes, water, etc. 

We need help with

• Set up:  Setting up sawhorses and tables, unloading plants from the trailer. The plant trays can be sharp, consider bringing gloves.
• Cashiers: money handlers – NOTE: this year we are taking credit cards.  One cashier per shift should be willing to download Zettle on your phone – Penny (treasurer) will train you.
• Cashier helpers:  count the number of plants a shopper has, to help speed up the line. If you can, talk to folks about Wild Ones and the upcoming PNL native plant tour
• "Ask Me" floaters: Help shoppers locate plants as well as help with plant suggestions if they need guidance
• Take down: All volunteers on last Saturday shift needed for take down.  Help consolidate plants and load into the trailer.  Gloves are helpful here too. Take down signs, etc.

We also need members to collect strawberry boxes from grocery stores and Costco/Sam's. We prefer these because they stack nicely and are sturdy enough if it is raining a little. Also, a bigger box can mean more shopping!   Broken down boxes that would require tape, and boxes of other sizes won't be accepted. You will be responsible for bringing your boxes out to Shaw on Friday May 2rd, before 3 PM.

Signs will direct visitors to a special entrance on the western boundary of the Reserve with plenty of free parking.

Sale Hours:
Friday, May 2, 2025 3:00 – 7:00 p.m.  Missouri Botanical Garden members only 
Saturday, May 3, 2025 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
