DETAILS:

Wildflower Walk March 12, 2026 at 12:30PM

If necessary, cancellations will be notified via email by 8:00 am March 12, 2026.   Check Spam if in doubt.    If you signed up and need to cancel, please let us know as soon as possible so we can let someone else go in your place.

Wear sturdy hiking/walking shoes and bring water.  You may also want to bring sunscreen, hat, tick spray, camera, walking stick, rain gear and snacks.

Englemann Woods is one of the few remaining old growth forests in Missouri and is located just outside of Labadie.  It is a moderate, approximate 2 mile loop trail with narrow paths.  We will descend into the bottomland where we hope to see a mass of spice bush in bloom and look for newly emerging plants such as anemone, mistflower, and Adam and Eve orchid leaves should be visible.  Then we will take the trail back up out of the valley and to our cars.

No restrooms available at this site.

Parking is limited so we may need to meet and carpool depending on the number of people that sign up. Meeting location TBD.    Carpooling is recommended so let us know if you need someone to carpool with.

All spots have been filled.
