Fall 2026 Native Plant Sales – Wild Ones St. Louis

Fall is ideal for planting native plants:

Robust root growth: The soil is still warm from summer, which encourages roots to grow aggressively.
Less plant stress: Cool air temperatures prevent plants from wasting energy on new leaves or flowers, letting them focus entirely on building a strong root system.
Double the head start: A fall-planted native grows roots until the ground freezes, goes dormant, and then grows roots again early next spring. This makes them highly resilient before summer heat hits.
