We sponsor educational opportunities throughout the year, such as the Partners for Native Landscaping Workshop, the Native Plant Garden Tour, and each of our monthly gatherings, but did you know that we are also very fortunate to have a number of institutions and organizations in our community that offer educational opportunities related to our mission of landscaping with native plants?

- The Native Plant School , co-sponsored by Wild Ones St. Louis Chapter, offers a year-round series of mostly outdoor learning sessions in the Whitmire Wildflower Garden at Shaw Nature Reserve. They cover various aspects of native home landscaping and prairie/savanna/wetland re-establishment.
- Shaw Nature Reserve Originally set up by the Missouri Botanical Garden as a safe refuge for the plant collection from the smoke pollution of the 1920’s, Shaw Nature Reserve is a nature reserve, a place to walk and hike, and a good spot for relaxing and for studying nature. It has become a premier educational, research and habitat restoration and reconstruction site. SNR also hosts learning opportunities and nature walks that can be found in the Learn & Discover page of the MOBOT website
- The Missouri Botanical Garden’s class schedule (which includes the Native Plant School) often has native plant and habitat focused offerings at the main garden as well as at Shaw Nature Reserve and the Butterfly House
- St. Louis Community College at Meramec’s Continuing Education division offers the Go Native! series about native plants and landscaping, as well as other nature classes on topics such as birds, insects, snakes, bats, geology and more
