We briefly discussed giving away wild flower seeds at our last meeting. This came up as we talked about the events calendar for next year.
I think this is an excellent idea. What better way to get natives into the home garden than to give away seeds. We Wild Ones have millions of wildflower seeds to share.
We need to talk about this together and decide if we should do it and what seeds to collect for the give away. I suggest plants that are easy to grow and colorful and not too tall.
In my yard, certain plants move around at will, so I guess those must be the easiest to grow.
Any thoughts?

I’ve discussed it with Ed and have sent an E mail to Scott asking for advice and permission to collect seeds at the Nature Reserve
Echinacea, Rudbeckia and Helianthus seem easy to grow. The con for these is that, well, “they spread like wildflowers”. (pardon the pun) How about Aquilegia or Monarda for early colors. I’m sure I’ll think of others later.
