Wild Ones Ozark Flora Fest Plant Sale May 9

Our Chapter will be selling native plants during the 2026 Ozark Flora Fest at Shaw Nature Reserve on Saturday, May 9. 

Members: I am seeking volunteers to help on Saturday only. If you volunteer you will receive a discount off of each plant purchased from our Wild Ones booth as a thank you.  Note that depending on quantities, some species may have limits prior to sale opening.

The plant sale happens rain or shine! Be aware of the weather and bring raincoat, appropriate shoes, water, etc. 

We need help with
--Set up:  Setting up tables, hanging signs, and moving plants. The plant trays can be sharp, consider bringing gloves.
-- Cashiers: money handlers – NOTE: this year we are taking credit cards. Cashiers will need to have
Paypal POS on their phone - Penny (treasurer) will train you.
-- Cashier helpers:  count the number of plants a shopper has, to help speed up the line. If you can, talk
to folks about Wild Ones and the upcoming PNL native plant tour (if not sold out)
-- "Ask Me"floaters: Help shoppers locate plants as well as help with plant suggestions if they need guidance
-- Take down:  All volunteers on last Saturday shift needed for take down. Help consolidate plants (we
are hoping to be sold out). Gloves are helpful here too. Take down signs, etc.

We also need members to collect strawberry boxes from grocery stores and Costco/Sams. We prefer
these because they stack nicely and are sturdy enough if it is raining a little. Also, a bigger box can
mean more shopping!   Broken down boxes that would require tape, and boxes of other sizes won't
be accepted. You will be responsible for bringing your boxes out to Shaw early on Saturday May 9 th
(by or shortly after 9:30 am).

Signs and/or employees will direct volunteers where to park.
The sale is being held near the entrance.
