Ferguson, MO
Greening Ferguson is a group of Ferguson residents interested in helping the community, and each other, learn how to use native plants to support the environment and provide pleasure to all.
– We share education and plants at our Ferguson Farmers Market.
– We work with the EarthDance Organic Farm School, located in Ferguson, to educate about the importance of natives in attracting the specific bees beneficial to specific fruit and vegetable pollination. This year, with the encouragement of Wild Ones St. Louis Chapter, EarthDance propagated hundreds of native plants (20 species) to sell along with their vegetable plants during their annual plant sale.
– Greening Ferguson came under the auspices of our Parks and Recreation Department, whose Director is eager to have the additional person-power necessary to expand the planting of native trees and flowers in our many parks. We also will work with Parks and Rec to design beneficial activities and policies.
“The monthly Seed Pod Leadership meetings have helped inspire and motivate us.”
