Grantwood Village – located north of Grant’s Farm and Ulysses S. Grant NHS.
Grantwood Village has numerous interested residents, including several Wild Ones members that champion the use of native plants in landscaping throughout our community. Our seed pod promotes native landscaping through educational programs at community events and volunteer activities installing and maintaining the village native landscape areas.
In 2020, the Village Board of Trustees’ approved renovating selected landscape beds in the village including a woodland design and a prairie/glade landscape at prominent locations within the Village. Due to the success of those demonstration projects, we are adding additional native plantings in other public spaces.
“Collaborating with the Village trustees and residents has been a very rewarding experience as more neighbors plant natives in their yards and we receive more compliments on the village’s beautiful native landscapes,” Laura Yates.
