Native Plant News from around our area

We are SO lucky to have such an active native plant scene in St. Louis!

Here are some highlights from our area:

Members, did you read Chapter Business Member Susie Van De Riet’s article titled ” Gardening for Good Bugs” in the 2020 Spring Journal?  It contains not only great information but also native plant lists for attracting “good” bugs.   You would have received the Spring Journal via email around March 23rd.

James Faupel was recently interviewed on the Nature Revisited podcast

In this episode, James discusses his personal path to the ecological world and explains the importance of native plant species in counterpoint to the destructive effects of foreign invasive species, which often go unnoticed or unchecked.

As part of the Virtual Green Living Festival, Jean Ponzi and Doug Tallamy discuss the native plant scene in St. Louis in this YouTube video

St. Louis is a leader in Naturescaping! Doug Tallamy, nationally known native plant advocate, gives shout-outs to STL groups, and reiterates the importance of re-charging biodiversity with native plants, in our yards, on our corporate and institutional campuses, and in our public spaces.
