Mentorship Program Now Open to All Chapter Members

by Kate Lovelady, chairperson Mentoring Program

The goals of the Wild Ones St. Louis Chapter mentorship program are to share experience, information, and enthusiasm about growing native plants, and to build community among Wild Ones members. Joining a mentoring circle is a one-year commitment, starting in early spring, and each circle is made up of a mentor and 1-3 mentees who all live or garden relatively close to one another.

Any current St. Louis Chapter member is welcome to apply to be a mentor or a mentee in 2023. Mentors do not have to be gardening experts, rather any active chapter member who would like to share their knowledge and experience of native plant gardening and to help mentees find additional resources and make connections among the wider membership. Mentees can be anyone looking for ideas, information, and camaraderie on the native-gardening journey, whether you’re still dreaming of your first garden or have years of experience yourself.

For more specifics about the program and to apply to participate this year as a mentor or mentee, please visit https://stlwildones.org/mentor/.

The deadline to apply is Monday, February 13, 2023. Unfortunately we can’t guarantee that we’ll be able to accommodate everyone interested in participating this year, but we’ll do our best!
