Recycle your plastic plant pots at Home Depot

If you do not have a use for your plastic plant pots, Home Depot is offering a way to recycle them.  HD takes the pot and collaborates with East Jordan Plastics in Michigan who reuses and recycles.

Check the website at this link for more info.

  • Look for the black recycle sign with the green plant in your local Home Depot garden center
  • Place your pots on the rack, they’ll do the rest
  • The Home Depot will accept any plastic garden container in our garden centers

A check around the St. Louis area showed that several Home Depots do have the recycling area set up with this sign. It is usually on the outer edge of the garden center.  You may want to call ahead to make sure your local Home Depot is set up to receive them.

If you haven’t already, check with friends and fellow gardeners who enjoy swapping plants – they might love to use your extras too!
